Introduction
The AX1105-500 is a Sun Netra board meant for OEM systems integrators. Its hardware specifications are similar to the Sun Blade 100 Workstation. The AX1105-500 is in a standard ATX 12.0"(304.8mm) x 9.6"(243.84mm) form factor. On the board, there are two IDE connectors, a floppy connector, two USB ports (on separate buses), two DB-9 serial ports, two 10/100 ethernet ports (sungem driver in linux), a parallel port header, and two PS/2 headers (which I have never tested).
There are 3 PCI slots as well as slots for the Sun Audio / Video Personality module which contains the equivalent ATI chip of a PGX-64 and VGA out as well as audio: headphone out, line out, line in, and microphone in jacks.
The combination slim CPU fan / heatsink (it was designed with 1U use in mind) that comes on these boards seems to have a short life. It can be easily replaced by a heatsink / fan combination used on an Intel Socket 7 board.
